Update from Dixie

Hey ya’ll, how’s it goin’?  I’ve got somethin’ real nice I wanna tell ya’ll ’bout… I’m in a foster (probably forever) home!  Ya see, this real nice couple applied to adopt me, and came out and met me earlier this month.  I was a lil unsure at first, but they played fetch with me out in the yard for a bit which was fun.  Then their daughter came to meet me, too, and they all really liked me a lot after we spent some more time together.  Anyway, ’cause I’m particular ’bout the humans I like (unless they have something very deee-li-cious, called corn-dogs… Angela, one of my favorite humans always brings them in for me when she visits HSGKC), they weren’t quite sure ’bout how I’d be in a home, so Christine suggested maybe they’d consider fostering me to give me a lil more time to adjust to a home, and they decided to give me a chance!

The mud puddle I found..."so much for the bath"!

The mud puddle I found… so much for the bath!

So, I’ve been livin’ with a mom, a dad, and a daughter who’s home from college for the summer, and I gotta tell ya’ll, I’m lovin’ it!!  I went to their house on May 17th, and the day before I left, Christine gave me a bath after Angela and Stan brushed me earlier in the day… well, when I got to the new place, I found a mud puddle to lay in which made my new parents laugh… and I was just doin’ it ’cause it was cool and I like rollin’ around in the grass and mud, I’m a dog after all.  Oh, and they started calling me “Betty” instead of Dixie.  I kinda like the name Betty… Dixie is nice, too, but Betty means somethin’ to them, so it makes me happy they changed my name… like I think they’re gonna keep me.  I’ve met a bunch of new humans, I have a HUGE yard to run around in, humans who take me on 3 walks a day, play fetch with me, and I get TONS of attention.  My new humans are real impressed with my manners… like I get to eat dinner when they eat, and I don’t beg for food, I eat my dinner and then just hang out and wait for them to finish.  They’re workin’ with me on how I meet new humans, too, and I’m improvin’.  Pete and Christine visited today, just to answer some questions my foster mom and dad had.  I was real happy to see them, and I showed how much I loved bein’ there ’cause I kept rollin’ over on my back for belly rubs.  They got to see the awesome backyard I hang out in, too.  They thought I looked sooo happy (Christine kept sayin’ that, and I am real happy).

Well ya’ll, that’s about all the news I’ve got for now… just thought ya might wanna know how things are goin’ for me.  I’m just real happy that this family is givin’ me a chance to become a part of it… not a whole lotta humans just want one dog at a time, and I’m real happy they’ve chosen me!  I’ll let ya know if they decide to adopt me, so keep readin’ this blog thingy for updates.  Bye ya’ll!

Look at how happy I am! I smiled for Pete & Christine.

Hey, how ya’ll doin?  I love all dis nice weather we’re havin’ an’ I’m enjoyin’ all da sunshine!  I wanted ta blog today ‘cuz I saw dat Rylee found a forever home, so I wanna tawk ’bout the kinda forever home I’d like… an’ I know some oder dogs are goin’ to a satellite an’ fundraiser thing later today at Gordon Biersch, an’ even tho I’m not goin’ ya never know who might be lookin’ to adopt a dog like me!

First, lemme tawk ’bout all ma good qualities, an’ I gotta few.  See, I’m real friendly with humans, I love hangin’ out with ya’ll an’ gettin’ treats, pets, an’ goin on walks.  I walk nice, like I don’t pull da human who’s walkin’ me too much.  I like playin’ fetch in da yard wit rope toys, an’ when I’m relaxin’ inside after a walk, I love stuffed toys cuz I like to find da thingy in dem dat squeaks an’ pull it out!  I’ve been to some obedience classes at dis place called “The Dogs’ Spot” wit’ a volunteer, Stan, an’ I’m learnin’ lots an’ lots ah new stuff.  I know how ta “sit”, “watch me”, “down”, an’ I’m workin’ on “stays”… dey’re kinda borin’ but Stan gives me really dee-li-cious treats when I stay like he asks me to!  An’ he gives me lots ah praise, too!  I’m real good in da yard, too, cuz I don’t jump da fence here.  I got more stuff to do dan botherin’ wit jumpin’ the fence!

I’d really, really like to be the only pet in da home.  I gots lots an’ lots to offer, like unconditional love, nice kisses, an’ just chillin’ wit my new family.  I don’t really wanna share any attention wit anoder dog, an’ I wanna just chase cats, which I know ya’ll don’t like so much, but I’m a dog, it’s what we do (I think dere’s somethin’ a lil strange ’bout dogs who like cats, it ain’t normal, but dats a whole ‘nother story).  I’d be real good with small humans, but not too small cuz I’m still workin’ on learnin’ somethin’ called “manners”… meanin’ when I get real happy an’ excited I jump up an’ I’m workin’ on learnin’ not ta do dat, but it’s hard!

Well ya’ll, dat’s all I got for now!  If ya don’t got anythin’ planned for too-naght, go to da fundraiser at Gordon Biersch to support HSGKC, an’ meet a few of da oder dogs lookin’ for forever homes, too.  If ya wanna learn more ’bout me or how ta adopt me, go to hsgkc.org or ma Petfinder page!  I hope all ya’ll have a real nice day!

Dooney (Adopted!)

Hey humans!  It’s been a while since I last checked in on this blog thing, and a lot has happened since I last wrote… like Darla finding her forever home!  Even though I prefer my own company (and not to share attention from humans with other dogs or cats), I’m very happy for her ’cause I heard she had been here for a while, waiting for her humans to find her.  When I say she’d been here a while, please don’t think anything negative about HSGKC… see from what I’ve noticed ’round here, this is a special shelter.  Our humans care about us lots and lots, and want us to find forever homes, but lots of us dogs who are here make that job a bit challenging at times.  So, if it takes more time for us to go to the right home for us, well, then it takes more time.  Anyways, Darla was here for a spell ’cause she’s not good with most other dogs, or cats, but she’s perfect with humans, especially small humans, or kids.  I’m also great with humans and kids, and love spending time with volunteers on Pack Walks, and playing in the yard (and with my favorite volunteer, Stan).  They try to play fetch with me, but I’m quite a tease about bringing back the rope or ball to them… they think it’s frustrating, and I think it’s funny!  I gotta entertain myself sometimes!

So after Darla went to her forever home, I started thinking ’bout my ideal forever home. I want to be the only pet.  I do want all of the attention for myself, and even though I’m 5 years old, don’t let that fool you… I’d love an active person or family to live with!  Last fall, Pete and Christine taught me some agility stuff, and I LOVE AGILITY!!!  It’s so much fun!  I’m very precise, and really have fun running up the A-Frame, and over the Bar Jump!  I’m pretty good on a leash, and love going for walks, and would love to go for runs or jogs, too.  I’d probably be okay in an apartment, as long as my new family would take me someplace (by myself, of course) to run around in a fenced in area.  I’d love a house with a fenced yard, but an apartment would work in a pinch.  I’m pretty smart, too, and Stan is taking me to obedience classes at The Dogs’ Spot.  I’m learning all kinds of things, like “sit”, “down”, “leave-it”, “watch me”, and I’m working on “stays” even though they aren’t my favorite thing to do (“stays” are kind of boring).  I love going to class with Stan on Saturdays!  I’m excited about this Saturday ’cause in the morning I’m going on TV! You can see me on KSHB Channel 41.  My Saturday is going to be AWESOME!

this is me learning how to do the teeter totter!

this is me learning how to do the teeter totter!

That’s all I’ve got for now…but I heard I’m probably going on the KC Pet Telethon this year, so if you miss me on TV Saturday morning, make sure to watch for me on the Pet Telethon.  It’s Sunday, March 1st, from 6:30-9:30pm on 38 The Spot (all that’s a mouthful… sheesh).  Peace out, I’ll talk at ya’ll later!

Hey humans!  My name is Farley, and I’m a 14 month old Hound mix!  I came here from Kansas City, KS, Animal Control ’cause HSGKC had space and wanted to get me in a new place hopin’ I’d get adopted from here!  Anyways, I like bein’ here lots!  I got a roommate, Bandit, who’s lots and lots of fun to play with!  We like runnin’ round the yard together!  I’m a big boy, and I’m still growin’, like I think our humans think I’ll weigh almost like 85-90 pounds when I’m all growed up.

This is Shine with his new family

Before I talk ’bout me, I wanna update you on some super cool stuff that’s been happenin’ here… like Shine gettin’ adopted!!!  That’s awesome!  I heard from the other dogs he’d been here for almost 5 years.  Shine used to live outside of a drug house as a guard dog and he was treated real bad, so he had some special needs to work on and had to learn to trust humans.  His new parents are real nice and amazing humans, so he’s a real lucky dog! HSGKC is cool ’cause they do keep dogs here ’til their humans find them here!  Max, and a lil guy named Coach went to their forever homes on Saturday, too, which is real cool!  So, it’s been a busy place here!

Okay, so here’s some stuff you’d need to know ’bout me if you’re thinkin’ ’bout makin’ me a member of your family!  First, I’ve got LOTS and LOTS of energy, and I’m real strong… like I’ve heard our humans sayin’ that other than Gia, I’m like the strongest dog here… so I give the humans who take me on a walk (like the Pack Walks which I love, btw) a real work out!  I’m tryin’ to work on my leash manners ’cause I know our humans would like that, but I’m just so excited to go on a walk I can’t help it!  And, I figured out how to go on more walks… see I know how to climb the fence here… tee hee!!!!  I’m a smart, and goofy dude!  If I’m hangin’ out with Bandit in the yard, I gotta be supervised ’cause I’ll try to climb over the fence, and I like to chew on stuffed toys and tennis balls, and one time I swallowed a toy ’cause I didn’t wanna have it taken away from me!  So, what I’m kinda gettin’ at is I’m a bit of a handful… but in a good way!  I do learn stuff pretty quick, and I love all the humans I meet!  I’m good with most of the dogs I meet, too, but ’cause I’m big, and tall, and real energetic and such, not all dogs always like me… but that’s okay ’cause I got a cool roommate in Bandit!

Well, that’s all I got for now!  Plus, it’s time for me to go on a walk… I love that I’ve kinda trained the humans who take care of us!!!  Bye!

Yep, this is me in action!

Dazzlin’ Dixie

Hey ya’ll!  How ya’ll doin’?  It’s been a while since I last blogged, and I realized I never told ya’ll bout the kinda forever home I’d like to have.  I wanna tell ya’ll ’bout that ’cause I know some other dogs and pups here have gone to their forever homes recently, like Ella, Connor, Rosie and Baloo (just to name a few dogs).

I’m super affectionate with the humans I know and I love attention.  I love goin’ on walks. I love my food and treats but I’m not food aggressive. I really love corn dogs… one of the volunteers, Angela, brings me corn dogs on Saturdays!

I’m a little picky about meeting strangers and who I trust right off the bat… it’s nothin’ personal, I’m a dog who’s a bit feisty and I have a selective taste in humans.  But a sure way to make a good impression on me is to come out in the yard and play fetch with me!  I love playin’ fetch!  It’s one of my fay-voh-rit things to do!  I’m real good at bringin’ the ball back to my human friends.  Check out my video to see me in action!   I’m a smart lady, I know lots of obedience stuff and am pretty much house-trained.  My ideal forever home would have a big ol’ fenced in yard, and humans to take me on lots of walks.  I wanna be the only pet in the home… I appreciate cats’ right to exist, but I really don’t wanna live with ’em, and other dogs… not for me either, I want all the attention for ME!  Also, ’cause I’m picky ’bout humans, I shouldn’t go to a home with small humans… like maybe teenage humans might be okay, but it’s gonna depend on the humans. I don’t wanna come off as bein’ too high maintenance, I’m just a quality girl who needs a special kinda home.

On another note… I’m not one to gossip, but there’s lots goin’ on ’round here and I can’t help but tell ya’ll ’bout some of the stuff ’cause our humans are workin’ real hard to fix it for us.  See, we’re havin’ some problems with the plumbin’ that flushes the dirty water out of the building.  So, I heard some humans who fix the plumbin’ are comin’ in next week and gotta dig up one our play yards to try and fix it!  Anyways, I know that’s kinda borin’ stuff, but I know it’s gonna cost lots of somethin’ called “money”.  See, our humans do everythin’ they can to take real, real good care of us and that uses lots of the money stuff, so I know sometimes they need a lil extra help with other stuff that comes up… so maybe if ya want, our humans would think it’s awful nice if ya wanted to do somethin’ called “donate” to help ’em out… if ya help them, you’d be helpin’ us, too!

I hope I didn’t bore ya’ll too much!  If ya wanna learn more ’bout me, don’t forget to check me out on petfinder.com.  Bye ya’ll!

Ladybug (Adopted!)

Hi humans, or people, whatever it is ya’ll wanna be called!  My name is Ladybug, and I’m a 2 year old Corgi/Terrier mix.  I was found as a stray by a Kansas City, KS, Animal Control Officer, very, very prego, and got to come here.  I went to a foster home to have my pups (they went to a real great rescue group, and are doin’ great, btw).  I loved livin’ with my foster mom… she’s awesome!!!  I had to come back here, though, ’cause our humans were hopin’ I’d get adopted at the Plaza Art Fair, but… I’m still here, but that’s cool, ’cause I’m doin’ great here!  I getta be in play groups, and have had a couple different roommates, first Annie, and now Mischa, a pup who loves to wrestle and play, too!!  I hope “my” humans find me soon so I can go to a home again, but til then, I’m cool waitin’ on the right family for me.

I wanna tell ya ’bout all the good things my foster mom had to say ’bout me, not ’cause I’m braggin’ or nothin, but ’cause I’ve gotta promote myself to find a forever home!  I’m completely house-trained (I just need to learn the routine of my new family), and I’m crate-trained, too… not all the other dogs can say that, so ha!  I’ve got lots of energy and love to play with toys, like squeaky toys (I completely rip them to shreds, pull out all the stuff inside, then throw the outside part of the toy up in the air and chase it), and I love to play tug, too!  My foster mom thought I’d be a good frisbee dog… I’m not totally sure what a frisbee is, but I think it sounds like fun!  I’m really good with small humans, and love to snuggle and cuddle, too!  I love gettin’ lots of pets and attention, and I’ve even gone to a couple obedience classes… so I’m pretty smart, too!  I’d really love to go to a home with another dog so I have a friend to play with, and I’m good with pretty much every dog I’ve met so far… the only “flaw” I have is I like to chase cats… see I know humans got all kindsa rules, but I seriously dunno what the big deal is with me wantin’ to chase cats… but I’ve heard some humans don’t like that, so I figured I’d better tell ya ’bout that lil tiny thing I like to do that’s maybe considered naughty.

It’s been crazy ’round here… tomorrow is the Pet Reunion & Open House (I’ve heard our humans talkin’ ’bout this, and know they’re real excited), so maybe since I’m great with other dogs, I’ll getta come out and meet some new doggies and humans, and someone’ll decide they wanna adopt me!!!  Ya never know what could happen!  So come see me tomorrow!  I gotta run… time to go play with Mischa!  Kisses!

Tommy Boy, aka “Scooby Doo” (Adopted!)

hi everybody my name is Tommy Boy!  i’m a great dane mix, an’ i’m ’round 7 months old.  i’ve been here at hsgkc since May, but was really, really sick… like no one could figure out what was goin’ on with me.  i went to see a special doggy doc called an in-tur-nisst at VCA Mission MedVet, an’ she was real nice an’ our humans got me healthy.  see, i had parvovirus bad, an’ after I recovered from that it made me have some tummy problems an’ i wasn’t gainin’ weight an’ didn’t wanna eat much ’cause for a while all the stuff i tried to eat made me feel sick.  our humans wanted to make sure i was real healthy before letting other humans know i’m ready for adoption, an’ i am better!!!!  i’m doin’ awesome… like back in May, i only weighed 33.5 pounds, an’ now i weigh almost 66 pounds!!!!  k, so that’s some of my history, now onto the more fun stuff.

i get to blog today to talk about the Plaza Art Fair ’cause i get to go an’ i’m real excited ’cause it’ll be my very first satellite adoption event (i know how to spell some big words ’cause i’m a smart boy)! the Plaza Art Fair is a real big deal for doggies ’cause i’ve heard lots of doggies get adopted, so our humans, ‘specially Christine (she fostered me for a month to help me get better, so i know she really loves me, even tho i know i tested her patience sometimes…’cause i’m a busy boy) will be workin’ real hard to get doggies to their forever homes!  i can’t wait to meet new humans, an’ really hope some real special, patient humans come along an’ want to give me a forever home!  plus, i think our humans get somethin’ called “donations”, too, like stuff they need to take care of us, toys for us, an’ other things humans need!  anyways, i’m so excited to go!  i hope i do good!  if you want more info about the Plaza Art Fair, check out our website for details… i’d fill you in more, but that’s not all i wanna talk about.

i wanna talk ’bout the kinda forever home i’d like, just a lil bit.  i’d love to have a doggy friend or 2 ’cause i LOVE playin’ with other dogs!!! Bandit‘s my roommie (an’ i love him), but i’ve been in play groups with Nemo, Radar, Titan, an’ Denver an’ Dakota (they got adopted last week together! we’re all happy for them ’cause they’re sweet an’ needed to go to a home together). Nemo, Denver an’ Dakota would play tug with me, an’ even with all 3 of them pullin’ on the rope, i’d win!  i’ve got LOTS of energy an’ i’ve heard our humans say i’m a “busy” boy, an’ i am, ’cause there’s just so much stuff to check out!  i’ve started obedience classes, an’ am real smart, too!  i’m workin’ on leash manners, but ’cause i am kinda “busy” an’ wanna check out everything, i kinda pull a lil on a leash!  i love the Pack Walks, too! those are lots of fun!

ruh-roh, i think i’ve been blogging too long!  oops, i didn’t mean to, i just had lots to say!  if you wanna learn more ’bout me, check me out on petfinder, an’ please come out to the Plaza Art Fair!  bye!

Porter the Powerhouse

Hey humans what’s goin’ on? Btw, I’m workin’ on callin’ ya’ll “people” but it doesn’t “flow” for me when I’m bloggin’ just yet. Anyways, I’ve got more important stuff to talk about than proper names, like some new things I’m learnin’ to do.  So Pete has been wantin’ to do more for us dogs, to add some new fun activities to our days, and cuz he’s worked with dogs a LOT even before he started workin’ here he knows tons ’bout dogs.

Anyways, some Eagle Scouts built some agility equipment for us and I got to try it out a couple times last week… and I gotta tell ya, I’m AWESOME!!  I tried a couple things like a tunnel at The Dog’s Spot, but this new stuff is way cool, too!  Pete’s teachin’ Christine how to teach us dogs agility, so together we learned how to do a Dog Walk, an A-Frame, a Teeter-Totter, and my favorite is the hoop/tire jump.  I rock the jump and power right through the hoop and get real excited when I run and jump through it!  I heard Pete tellin’ Christine that Dooney‘s more “precise” than I am when he’s doin’ agility stuff, but he can’t bring the power like I can!  I know Hercules jumped through the hoop, too, but I think he’s jealous he’s not as good as me… hee hee (and cuz Christine’s spendin’ time with me)!

I wanted to talk about the agility stuff cuz our humans are workin’ on somethin’ soon to raise money to have a fence put up and a shed to store the equipment in (see, Willis, I know big words, too).  Our humans are always tryin’ to find new things for us to do to make our lives better while we’re waitin’ for our forever homes.  You gotta check me out in this video so you can see how boss I look!  You’d never know I lived on a chain my whole life before I came here… and who’d ever think a dog like me could do something like this, but, then again, I rock!

That’s all I got for now!  Peace out!

Rukus (Adopted!)

hi… my name is Rukus, an’ i’m a 5-6 month old Collie mix an’ I came in with Snoopy.  i’m a really sweet guy, an’ love spending time with humans cuz they pet me an’ love on me an’ give me treats!  i gotta confess somethin’ tho, i think the reason my name is Rukus is cuz when i came here i had a different name, so when Christine came into the room me an’ Snoopy were in, the first thing i did was bark at her… so she re-named me Rukus (i can’t remember my old name, and i kinda like “Rukus”).  i still bark a bit, but that’s just cuz there’s lots an’ lots of stuff goin’ on, an’ i’m still a pup, so i dunno yet how else to act!  when i first got here, i was a lil bit shy, but i figured out real quick the humans here are real nice!  i’m workin’ on bein’ more outgoing like Snoopy is, cuz i wanna find a forever home.

i’d love a real home of my own.  bein’ in a house for a while was sooooo nice after bein’ out an’ about with Snoopy by ourselves, so i wanna talk ’bout the kinda forever home i’d like.  i’m a real nice boy, i walk real easy on a leash, and i like to play with Snoopy an’ other puppies lots… so i’d be VERY happy to go to a home with a doggy brother or sister. and, i’ve got lots of energy, an’ i know after i’ve been in a play group, i’m kinda tired… hey, that’s sneaky of our humans… they put us in play groups so we can run off our energy then we sleep real good at night, an’ sometimes we’re all more quiet in the kennel after play-time… but that’s k cuz i have lots of fun!  i heard Denver an’ Dakota get to go to a home together cuz they’re bro’s, but me an’ Snoopy don’t got to go to a home together.  i really like other doggies, so i don’t think it’d be too hard to find a good brother or sister for me… but if ya want me an’ Snoopy together, that’s cool too!  i haven’t met alot of small humans yet, but cuz i’m me an’ a sweet boy, i’d probly be ok with them.  i dunno ’bout cats yet, they look like fun to chase, but i think some humans have “rules” ’bout chasin’ cats… silly rules!  anyways, cuz i like runnin’ an’ playin’ so much, i’d love a big yard with a fence, kinda like we have here.  i dunno, i think Christine will help find a great match for me cuz that’s what she does.  if ya wanna learn more ’bout me, how to adopt me an’ stuff, check out hsgkc.org.

k, that’s all i got for now… plus, i’m gettin’ ready to go out an’ play with Snoopy… that’s way more fun than this “blog” thingy!  bye!!

I'm still a pup but I can keep up with Snoopy!

i’m still a pup but i can keep up with Snoopy!

it’s hard to deny that i’m pretty cute!

Nemo (Adopted!)

hi!  my name is Nemo an’ i’m 7 months old an’ a Pit Bull mixed with somethin’ else (maybe a few somethin’ elses… but who knows)!  I was runnin’ ’round a nice woman’s yard an’ she felt bad for me so she brought me here.  I like bein’ here cuz there’s always lots an’ lots of stuff goin’ on an’ lots to do!  i’ve made a lotta doggy friends, too, like Remy, an’ Ella, an’ Gandalf (he was my roomy for a while til he got adopted), an’ Aster, an’ Tommy Boy (he’s my roomy now)… they all love me cuz i’m nice an’ fun to run ’round an’ play with in play groups! play groups are awesome!  i love playin’ tug with a big rope toy, an’ just runnin’ round the yard bein’ silly with my friends.  i like wrestlin’, too! Tommy Boy knows how to wrestle good, so we do that lots.  i also like goin’ to satellite adoption events, an’ on pack walks, an’ to obedience classes!  i’m a pretty smart lil dude, an’ i love gettin’ treats!  i’ve learned how to “sit”, an’ after really makin’ Crissy (she’s one of my favorite human volunteers) work for it, “down”… tee hee, i knew how ta do it, i just wanted her to really work for it.

k, so i gotsta confess to somethin’… see i’m a good boy, all the doggies i meet love me, an’ i love them, an’ i love the humans i meet, too… but i have a wee bit of a naughty side.  see, when i went to my first satellite event at this really cool doggy store called Brookside Barkery & Bath (there’s a satellite there this weekend an’ i’m hopin i get to go), i was a perfect little gentleman.  i was calm, even when other doggies were barkin’ or stuff was goin’ on, i sat there just takin’ it all in.  i was polite to all the humans i met, too.  i was so good, the human who handles these event thingys (humans are soooo stinkin’ complicated with all the different stuff they gotta do, but that’s k, cuz i love ’em), Jana, came back sayin’ how impressed she was with me, an’ how i was somethin’ like “the perfect satellite dog”!!  she even compared me to a doggy named Sunny… which is really cool…. i’ve heard humans talkin’ ’bout him, an’ to say i was as good as Sunny at a satellite is AWESOME!  anyways, back to my confession… so Jana was tellin’ Christine an’ Alex ’bout how good I was an’ they both looked at Jana with surprise… Christine’s jaw even dropped open. now i’m not that bad, but i gots a couple “naughty” habits, so Christine an’ Alex were just real surprised an’ proud of me.  see what happens is when a human comes in my doggy run to leash me up, i get REALLY excited an’ can’t keep it all in so i might nip at the human… not real hard or nothin’, but it’s the only way i can tell ’em how very excited i am ’bout goin’ to do whatever it is we’re gonna do.  i nip at their ankles an’ shoes (shoes with laces… so temptin’ to tug on an’ they’re right there at my level where i can reach, i mean c’mon, that’s just too much to resist), an’ sometimes i jump up real high, an’ bark in their faces.  Gandalf and Tommy Boy are bigger than me, so i gotta do my own thing to make sure they pay attention to ME! it’s my version of a happy dance!

so, i think it’d be best for me if i go to a human or human family who has had a doggy like me before who likes to nip when we’re excited, cuz i think it might be too much for someone just startin’ out with dogs.  i’d LOVE to have a doggy brother or sister!  my favorite thing to do in the whole world is to play with my doggy friends.  i probably shouldn’t go to a home with real small or young humans (i think they’re called “toddlers” an’ “babies”) cuz they’re lots of work, an’ i need to learn more manners… an’ that’s a lot to do all at once.  i’d love to have a fenced yard to run ’round in, too!  i don’t think i’d be real good with cats either, but i just don’t see what all the fuss is ’bout cats… dogs are way more fun!  i bark a lot, too, sometimes, so i’d like a house instead of an apartment (see what i mean ’bout humans bein’ so complicated… all these different types of places to live, sheesh).  i like goin’ on walks, but have to work on my leash manners, too, i pull really hard, but it’s cuz i’m excited!  Christine an’ Lori had to carry me back from one pack walk (our humans are sooooo good to us)… i’m tryin’ to learn all sorts of stuff, but there’s a LOT to learn!

we’re gettin’ ready to settle in for the night, so i’m gonna say bye!  if ya wanna know more ’bout me or how to go ’bout settin’ up a time to meet me, check out my web page >
